We're a technology-led service with a human touch.About the RoleThe Accounting & Reporting Manager role will perform a variety of accounting, reporting, and operational duties within the Finance Team.
You will play an important role in the Finance Team around change management, improving processes, scaling accounting company infrastructure, and more.
This position will handle a wide spectrum of duties ranging from month-end close to technical accounting to financial reporting and more.What Your Success Will Look LikeSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.Research and draft technical accounting memoranda.Support acquisition accounting and integration activities, and prepare pro forma historical financial data as needed.Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, scalability, and integrity of financial reporting.Mentor and review work of junior team members, while establishing team metrics, performance goals, and a service-oriented approach to business partners.Drive continuous improvement across accounting operations, including process redesign, system implementations, and the development of enhanced analytics and reporting tools.Collaborate with tax advisors on compliance, reporting, and special projects; stay current with evolving accounting standards and assess business impacts.Support cross-functional initiatives with ad hoc financial analysis and participate in company-wide efforts to optimize financial operations.Contribute as a team player, taking on additional duties and projects as needed in a dynamic environment.Who You Are And What You BringThe successful candidate will be self-motivated, innovative, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
A CPA with 5+ years accounting/finance/reporting experience, including hands-on general ledger experience including month end close, financial reporting and analysis, technical accounting analysis, policies and procedures enhancement and development, strong interpersonal and excellent computer skills.Bachelor's degree and CPA (or equivalent) requiredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAPAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical accounting guidanceAbility to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and analysesExperience with a publicly traded company and/or growth stage company preferredStrong, professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointSavvy with financial and accounting reporting systems, familiarity with Sage Intacct a plusExperience with accounting for stock compensation expense and/or capitalized software a plusOur Scorpion ValuesWinning Mindset: When our clients win, we win.Genuine Care: We only succeed when we are truly invested in our clients and each other.Unmatched Results: We deliver more than expected–and then some–driving the best results and impacting lives.Constant Improvement: We believe there is always a better way.

As a national employer, Scorpion has made the decision to post our expected pay rate or pay range (as applicable) in all our job postings, regardless of geographic location.The base salary range is $110,000 (entry-level) - $120,000 (highly experienced), exclusive of fringe benefits.
If you are hired at Scorpion, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.
Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the total salary range for the role.
