Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Project Control Advisor located in Maracaibo, Zulia, seeking a passionate individual who provides leadership in all Capital projects in Western Venezuelan by developing project control programs for cost and schedule analysis and tracking. Serves as an advisor to assigned project managers and other site representatives to achieve on-time and on-budget goals.This job requires working in a mixed company and requires daily interaction with PDVSA management and leadership of Joint Venture.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Project control support activities including those involving tracking, forecasting and reporting project progress for cost and scope.Ensure all elements of the project adhere to the plan.Work with both project managers and employees assigned to the project.Create and update schedules for each project.Communicate progress updates through reports.Serves as technical advisor to assigned project managers/directors related to project controls systems and procedures to achieve project goals.Supervises and trains staff and partners.Provides guidance and coordinates work activities with other project control staff assigned to assist in completing the required project tasks.Coordinates activities with contractors and works closely with CVX and PDVSA supply chain organizations.Ensures all required permits are available and current.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or closely related fieldSpanish language capability required to communicate with partners and lead joint venture employees.At least 8 years of experience in project controls and reporting experience for Capital Projects including outlining objectives and goals, preparing and executing workplans, developing and tracking budgets, and developing and following schedules.Project control and management principles, practices, and proceduresProcurement practices and contract administration principles and practices financial accounting and work breakdown structure and its application to scope of project workPrinciples and practices of project control techniques, budget preparation, and budget control/monitoring techniquesPrinciples and practices of record keeping and records management. Partnering and negotiation principles and practicesProject control software experience (MS Project, Primavera, Excel, etc.)Promote OE tenants and proper safety behaviors.Independently establishes and maintains credibility and positive working relationships and collaborating with peers and partners.Leads by example to promote visible leadership and compromise around OE/HES.Applying appropriate oral and written communication techniquesUsing technical concepts and general project management tools to effectively coordinate project control activities and functions and solve complex problems.Reviewing and evaluating change compared to contract terms.Preparing clear and concise analytical, administrative, and financial reports.Assisting with budget preparation and administration.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of environmental regulationsStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
