Job Title: Associate Vice President for Capital Facilities PlanningJob Summary:California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Associate Vice President for Capital Facilities Planning to provide expert leadership in the ongoing development of its campus.About the Role:The Associate Vice President of Capital Facilities Planning reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (SVPFA/CFO). This role serves as a leader on campus and in CalArts' broader communities responsible for advancing the physical development of facilities that enable education, performance, administration, and the housing, dining, and living programs that sustain its students and faculty.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a capital facilities master plan to guide the development of campus facilities.Manage the planning and design of all major and minor capital projects, including remodel, renovation, and new constructions.Ensure that all capital projects are functional, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective.Lead the development and management of an annual capital budget.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals and innovate new solutions.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related technical field.10+ years of capital facilities planning and development experience.Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Proven excellence as a financial steward.Working knowledge of facilities and familiarity with safety management in a complex organization.About CalArts:CalArts is a highly regarded, nationally ranked independent multidisciplinary arts institution.
