About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional Chief Cyber Security Operations Architect to lead our Cyber Security team at Canonical.Key Responsibilities:Hire and mentor a team of technical security professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and expertise.Define and drive the development of SecOps security standards, playbooks, and architecture, ensuring seamless integration with our agile engineering practice.Analyse and improve Canonical's security posture, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective incident response playbooks.Evaluate, select, and implement new security tools and practices, staying ahead of emerging threats and nation-state actors.Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical's SecOps practice, contributing to open source threat intelligence initiatives and driving threat modelling, table top exercises, and other SecOps best practices across Engineering, IS, and the wider organisation.Develop and publish high-quality learning and development materials, blog posts, whitepapers, and conference presentations that showcase Canonical's expertise in cyber security.Plan and deliver SecOps work, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and influencing change through collaborative efforts with Security leadership.Requirements:A proven track record of mitigating advanced threats and nation-state attacks, coupled with expert technical understanding of SOCs from the ground up.In-depth knowledge of SOC architecture and design, including strategies for logging, firewalls, network segmentation, honeypots, etc.Exceptional academic credentials, including an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.Drive, personal motivation, and a track record of exceeding expectations, with deep passion for being at the forefront of technology security.Leadership and management ability, excellent business English writing and presentation skills, and confidence in reporting security performance metrics with accuracy and completeness.
