Career Opportunity
Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse at our Northwest clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Scope
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.
Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age-specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs.
Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their status and medical history.
Collect and record nursing assessments and interventions.
Review and report the results of health assessments, physical exams, laboratory data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessments to the provider.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional support.
Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Prepare and administer therapies under supervision of a physician, including medications and blood products, ensuring proper documentation.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following OSHA guidelines and disinfection protocols.
Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, including managing medication refills, assisting with exams, scheduling, triaging calls, and coordinating services.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and assist in clinical research activities.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in oncology nursing.
Qualifications

High School Diploma
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
RN license and current registration in Nevada
Current BLS certification
Preferred 1 year in Oncology; BSN preferred
Must maintain continuing education requirements

Working Conditions
The environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, radiation, and other hazards typical of an oncology/hematology clinic.
Physical demands include handling and lifting patients, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Specialty Specific Responsibilities
Transplant RN

Provides nursing care from initial contact through post-stem cell rescue follow-up, managing symptoms and toxicities in collaboration with the transplant team.
Reports data to transplant registries and incorporates network recommendations into practice.
Minimum qualifications include experience in bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplant settings.
Infusion RN

Programs infusion pumps, instructs patients/caregivers, and maintains documentation.
