Coordinator - Civil Society and Governance - Venezuela (April 2024) WFD, is looking to recruit an experienced Coordinator- Civil Society and Governance based in Caracas , Venezuela. L ocation: CaracasOccasional overseas travel to support programme implementation and/or oversee activities may be required for the position.Benefits: 4 wellbeing days per calendar year (pro-rata for part-time staff), plus annual leave and public holidays entitlement.Contract Details: Fixed Term contract for services – From April 2024 – 31st March 2026.Hours: Full time Coordinator – Civil Society and Governance The Coordinator – Civil Society and Governance reports directly to WFD's Country Director in Venezuela and will be responsible for all technical elements of the programme relating to Civil Society Strengthening – ensuring effective identification, engagement, consultation, communication, capacity-building, collaboration, and cohesion with and among CS actors and organisations (and related partners); and Governance – ensuring effective CS engagement with local governance actors and regulatory authorities. The core skills and experience we are looking for are Proven experience and expertise in Civil Society and Local Governance areas (preferably with 5 or more years of direct experience in relevant role(s) and seniority within the Venezuelan civil society). A strong understanding of the social, cultural, developmental, governance, rights, and political issues that affect civil society organisations.A strong understanding of humanitarian and human rights issues, priorities, needs, and experience in the work of CS in Venezuela (covering service delivery, campaigns, and advocacy) Strong knowledge of civil society actors and organisations, their operational environment and sector-specific needs, priorities, and challenges. in Venezuela.Excellent communications skills (e.g., presentation, facilitation, writing, etc.) and research and analysis.Master's degree in political science, development, or related field.Fluency in English and SpanishProficiency in working with Microsoft 365 suite of Office products e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SharePoint, Dynamics, etc.This role is a locally based field role; therefore, applicants must be eligible to work in Venezuela.
