Career Opportunities: Plant Manager, La Gere (4332) Purpose of the job / Position description The Plant Manager will lead a site with ~175 employees. As a key member of the operations leadership team, the Plant Manager and his/her team have the responsibility for occupational health and safety leadership, the manufacturing footprint and equipment platform recommendations to support the business strategy, the assessment of equipment and assets, capacity utilization to optimize the investments and to meet customer needs, capital expenditure recommendations to support the strategy, process excellence establishment across the site. The Plant Manager will need to drive major continuous improvement programs across the site to improve manufacturing performance. The Plant Manager should focus on ingraining the continuous improvement and operational excellence mindset into the team and culture of the operations Main responsibilities To set plant priorities in order to continuously improve in safety culture and pursue the zero accidents target To grant respect and implementation of compliance, Group culture, policies and directives within the plant To manage plant operations in safe, sustainable, efficient and economic manner to ensure optimal sustainability, productivity, working capital, quality and customer service To contribute to plant annual plan definition and ensure its successful cascading and execution To ensure the achievement of KPIs targets and Group initiatives (i.e. Opex and United projects), with engaging dialogue with plant management team To contribute to develop as well as execute the capex plan for the plant, in cooperation with Division VP Operations To develop a high performance and continuous improvement culture within the plant To define and implement cost optimization initiatives To ensure right human resources capability by optimal organizational design and strategic workforce planning To own Unions relationships and negotiations process To manage the overall operational responsibilities and activities of the plant To review performance data that includes financial and activity reporting, in order to monitor and measure productivity, goal achievement , and overall effectiveness To meet customer demand in terms of volumes and quality To build leadership and competencies to achieve high performance culture according to Ahlstrom leadership expectations To lead the continuous improvement and Behavioral Based Safety processes, inspiring and coaching key stakeholders To ensure cross collaboration within the Division, the COO and the Group To collaborate proactively with local authorities, community and stakeholders as representative of Ahlstrom Strong team leadership Driving results for value Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including conflict management Performance management Decision making End-to-end process understanding French mother tongue Fluency in English Ahlstrom is a global leader in fiber-based specialty materials.
