The Psychiatric Social Worker is a member of an interdisciplinary team who provides direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention, and psychoeducation to members and/or family members. Majority of role entails direct patient care. Familiar with all aspects of psychopathology and recognizes the appropriate and timely clinical treatment intervention needed. May work with a specific age group as determined by training and certificate. Assists the department leadership on various department functions including, but not limited to department performance improvement plan, development of care management programs and processes, development of education plans, training of staff, and performing clinical record audits. Works closely and in collaboration with the Psychiatrist in developing programs related to mental health. Participates in departmental functions such as staff meetings, staff in-services, and committees as assigned.
