Overview
SGF Global is looking for a Field Drilling Superintendent for an Oil & Gas enterprise in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela.
Requirements
Experience in heavy oil, factory and batch drilling operations in extended reach wells is highly desirable.
Previous superintendent experience is required.
Set clear expectations, communicate transparently, and align field and office-based teams on shared HSE, costs, and cycle time goals.

Experience with startup drilling operations and rig pick-up, as well as experience in the Heavy Oil asset class is a plus.

High proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking/reading/writing) is required.
Responsibilities
The Field Drilling Superintendent will lead the startup of a heavy oil drilling campaign in the EM. This position will:
Oversee the rig pick-up, rig certification, and the safe and efficient drilling execution of the project.
Be accountable for the delivery of drilling operations according to business plans and aspirational targets for HSE, costs, and cycle time.
Ensure maintenance of well control and well integrity at all times and manage any well control operations.
Mend and provide coaching, as well as technical, leadership, and operational guidance to less experienced field personnel.
Interface regularly with Union representatives to address situations as needed.
Typical well challenges include heavy oil remote land rig operations on multi-well pads, loss circulation, hole stability, narrow drilling window, 4,000'+ horizontal laterals, and tools and services availability. In addition to drilling operations supervisors, this position will routinely interface with other cross-functional Joint Venture team members such as Logistics, Subsurface, Operations, HSE, Waste Management, and Supply Chain, in addition to Service Companies. This is a rotational 28x28 field-based position in Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
